The Positive Production People
Poppet is a full-service, woman-owned and operated production company based in Naarm/Melbourne, Australia. Led by Founder and Executive Producer Natalie Taylor and Lead Producer Elizabeth Malcher, we bring deep industry experience, creative precision, and solutions-driven leadership to every production. From large scale international commercials to social-first agile content, we support clients and agencies from the first spark of an idea through to final delivery, crafting high-quality campaigns with creative integrity.
At the heart of Poppet is our mantra: Positive Production. Pobody’s nerfect, but we’re committed to doing our part. That means working sustainably, ethically, and respectfully, and always looking for ways to contribute something good to the industry and the world around us. Sometimes it’s small (bye bye, plastic bottles on set), sometimes it’s big (hello, mentorship programs) but always, it’s done with purpose. We’re here to raise the bar, and have fun doing it!
Acknowledgment of Country
Poppet acknowledges the First Nations People as Custodians of the Lands and Waters on which we work across Australia; we hold the utmost respect for Elders past and present. We recognise their connection to Country and celebrate the stories, culture and traditions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
Sovereignty was never ceded and as media creators, storytellers and members of the Naarm community, we are committed to doing our part in Reconciliation, supporting First Nations voices and calling out racism in its many forms.

Poppet are committed to making inclusive production = standard production.

Poppet can step in and assist productions based anywhere in the world. Most recently we’ve facilitated shoots for clients in Milan and Atlanta.

What is Poppet’s stance on AI?
Poppet are heading into the AI era with open and analytical minds. We are constantly investigating AI advancements, exciting opportunities and the challenges it presents to our industry and wider society. We are firm believers in the value of quality human creative inputs being the best avenue for utilising AI’s impressive capabilities. As one of our directors once said, “Sure, traditional production rocks, but can it turn a house into a hotdog?” Touché! So in that same vein, we believe in using AI when and where it has a place.
You’re all about positivity, so what does Poppet do to make a difference?
At Poppet, we are committed to walking the walk, not just talking the talk. Here is a list of just some of the ways we run an ethical and sustainable business.
- Reducing waste in our office, at events and on set: no plastic water bottles or coffee cups, only printing essential hard copy documents and we partner with a Refugee School in Melbourne, donating any and all quality items that can be used.
- Partnering with Inclusively Made: We are a founding member of Inclusively Made, a national initiative ensuring people with disabilities are employed in front of and behind the camera.
- Investing in charities and good causes through production support. Examples include The Push Up Challenge, The Aunties, The Mavens, Women’s Health Victoria, LifeLine, and Cancer Council of Victoria
- Mentoring: Nat Taylor is a founding member of The Aunties, a mentoring initiative for Women and non-binary people in the advertising industry. Learn more about The Aunties here.
- Reassessing hierarchy: The production and advertising industries have traditionally been very hierarchical. While some structure is important for productivity and clarity, the negative aspects of hierarchy can be extremely detrimental. From a runner on their first day, to the Creative Director, every person involved is essential to a project’s success and deserves to feel respected and supported at work.
- Recognising our privilege: We are a white woman owned business, and this affords us significant privileges. We are open to talking about this and ensuring we support POC colleagues, businesses and tackle how we can always be doing better head on.
Does Poppet only make big TV ads?
Nope! While we’re darn good at crafting massive campaigns, we also assist with creating online, digital and social first content. Understanding how people consume content and connecting with audiences from all demographics is vital for efficacy. We are committed to keeping up with technological advancements and cultural evolutions, including AI (the good parts, and the bad).
Does Poppet work directly with clients?
Yes! We work directly with clients on projects of all sizes. We help clients with creative concepts and scripts, all the way through to putting their ads online &/or on TV.
